Pop-up workshops, wherever you are.
We believe art is one of the best excuses to bring people together. Many Hands Make runs pop-up art workshops in Melbourne, designed around one simple idea: give people a reason to slow down, make something with their hands, and connect with the people next to them.
Whether you're planning a corporate team-building activity, a school or university incursion, or a community event, we bring a fully hosted, mobile art workshop to you, anywhere across Melbourne. Sometimes that means trying a brand new medium. Sometimes it's just about giving people space to sit, make, and talk. Tell us who your community is and what you're hoping for, and we'll shape something that fits.

Every session follows a loose but intentional shape, enough structure to feel held, enough room to connect:
A welcome exercise, and an Acknowledgement of Country
A little history of the medium, where it's from, what it's made for
A live tutorial, techniques, tips, and permission to get it wrong
Time to make, talk, and be together, at your own pace
Show and tell, because the best part is seeing what everyone else came up with
Sessions run 2 to 3 hours, plus 30 minutes either side to set up and pack down. Got something shorter or longer in mind, a quick 45-minute taster or a full-day activation? Just ask, we're flexible.
We can shape this as a structured workshop where everyone works through it together, or a drop-in session where people wander in and out throughout the day. Tell us what you're picturing, and we'll figure out what fits.
We can run sessions for as few as 2 people or as many as 30+ with extra facilitators on board. We recommend 10 or more to make a session really sing, but we're happy to scale to whatever your event needs.

Anywhere your community needs a reason to come together

Tash Atkins
Tash is a Melbourne based creative practitioner working across performance, sound, facilitation and community art. They founded Many Hands Make because they believe creativity should be something you can just walk into, not something you need permission for.
Shiree Vallins
Shiree is an artist and Tash's closest creative collaborator, co-facilitating our workshops and helping grow the community around them. She brings steady hands, good energy, and a genuine love for watching people connect over making.

How far in advance should we book?
2 weeks notice is ideal, though we'll always try to make something work.
Do you hold Working with Children Checks and insurance?
Yes, we're WWCC verified and carry Public Liability Insurance for every session, so we can run workshops with kids and adults alike.
Can we supply our own materials, or request something specific?
Absolutely. Tell us what you're after, and we'll build the session around it.
What's actually included?
Facilitation, materials, set-up and pack-down, and a friendly face who's passionate about creating. Just bring the space and the people.
Can adults and young people join the same session?
Yes, our workshops are all ages and all skill levels.
Everything you need to know about our Many Hands Make pop-up creative workshops in Melbourne.
Why Us?
Connection
We build workshops to bring your community closer, the making is just the excuse.
Learning
You don't need to know a thing. We explain everything and bring all the materials.
Sustainability
A lot of our materials come through SWAP Creative, a fellow small arts org keeping good supplies out of landfill.
Flexible
As a mobile, pop-up art workshop provider, we travel across Melbourne so your community doesn't have to.
Let's Plan Something
To help us shape the right session, tell us a bit about:
The format you're picturing: one structured workshop, or something people can drift through?
What you want people to walk away with: a new connection, a handmade thing, a new skill, or a bit of all three?
Your community: the more you can share, the better we can build something that actually fits.
